Compare app trials with a short checklist

Test one real task, check the renewal terms, and see what you can export.

Choose a task you do regularly

Pick a recent task you can repeat in each app. For a design app, that might be making a square graphic and exporting it. For a planner, add a recurring item and find it on the day it is due. Use the same task so your comparisons are consistent.

Check the plan before starting

Write down which features the trial includes and which plan you would use afterward. Record when it ends, what it costs to renew, and how cancellation works. If a trial requires payment details, check those terms before starting.

Test what happens to your work

Export a small sample and open it in the program you would use next. Check whether text, formatting, and attachments are still usable. Look for a way to export several files together if you expect to keep a lot of work in the app.

Review your notes before deciding

Compare the time each app took and which features you actually used. If a paid feature saves time on a task you rarely do, write down how often it would help before deciding whether the plan fits.
